PTK decided to engage BearingPoint INFONOVA to develop new business processes and to implement a modern Billing System, fitting both for fixed line telephony as well as emerging IP services. Once the business support systems had been installed, Nexus Telecom got the task to implement an adequate mediation solution.

BearingPoint INFONOVA implemented the Infonova BSS system as a high-scalable billing system for fixed line and IP services, enhanced by the ability to collect call-detail records of different sources, to check for consistency, and to forward them in the form of billing records to the NexusMediation.

The main processes within PTK’s new billing system are mediation, rating, invoicing and bill formatting. Additionally, the Infonova Cash Module helps PTK centralizing and controlling customer payments via different channels like direct debts or bank payment. This ensures regular control mechanisms preventing or tracking fraud and payment delays.

By the means of combined efforts of PTK, BearingPoint and NexusMediation the client’s analogue and digital terrestrial telephony, digital mobile telephony, and internet services have been integrated into a convergent billing system. Moreover, the invoicing system was interfaced with the client’s legacy ERP system to provide seamless transition between essential platforms. In all this cases TM Forum’s eTOM processes helped us to harmonize the service-specific process chain down to PTK’s end customers.

As a result of the work performed by BearingPoint and Nexus Telecom, Kosovo’s PTK has now a powerful end-to-end Order-to-Cash solution with substantial cost savings potential:

  • Low cost of service and maintenance
  • Reduced total cost of ownership
